64 Audio TWELVE Ti IEMs

TL;DR:

  • The TWELVE Ti is the U12t rebuilt in aerospace-grade Ti-6AI-4V titanium–same 12-driver configuration, same tia/apex/LID technology, different shell
  • Sound quality is nearly identical to the U12t, with the titanium shell tightening things up slightly for a touch cleaner presentation
  • Comes with two dedicated shielded cables (3.5mm and 4.4mm), four apex modules, and some of the best packaging 64 Audio has ever done
  • Priced at $2,499 — a $500 premium over the U12t's $1,999 — with only 200 units available worldwide
  • If you miss it or don't need the titanium upgrade, the U12t still delivers the same legendary sound — you're not settling either way

A Modern Classic IEM, Rebuilt From the Ground Up

The 64 Audio TWELVE Ti isn't just another limited-edition IEM — it's the embodiment of everything that made the 64 Audio U12t IEMs a modern classic, rebuilt from the ground up in aerospace-grade titanium. Most limited edition IEMs are nothing more than a fresh coat of paint slapped on something you've already seen–same sound, shinier box, bigger price tag. This is not that. The shells, faceplate, and exclusive m20 apex modules have all been re-engineered in titanium–a material prized for its strength, resilience, and biocompatibility. For anyone searching for a top-tier universal IEM that goes beyond the ordinary, this is it.

At $2,499, with only 200 units in existence, the TWELVE Ti IEMs one they're gone, they're gone. If you've been on the fence about the U12t IEMs or you've been waiting for the version that matches its performance with something truly special in hand–this is the window, and it's closing fast.

PROS

- Aerospace-grade titanium delivers a durable, corrosion-resistant shell

- Retains the U12t IEM's signature immersive, dynamic sound quality

- Apex module system gives you a flexible tonality

CONS

- More expensive than the U12t IEMs

- Limited to 200 units

Design

When it comes to design, the TWELVE Ti stands out for its material choice. The shell, faceplate, and exclusive m20 apex module are all made from Ti-6AI-4V titanium. This is the most widely used alpha-beta titanium alloy, comprised of 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium. You can find it in aerospace structural components, medical implants, high-performance racing parts, and now this flagship earphone.

If you haven't noticed, titanium is having its moment right now in the hi-fi industry, and there's good reason for it. Industries have adopted titanium for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, resistance to corrosion, and biocompatibility. That translates over to the TWELVE Ti through a shell that's stronger and more resistant than the traditional aluminum shell construction. Titanium is a naturally lightweight metal, so you're getting a more durable IEM that still feels comfortable during long listening sessions. And because Ti-6Al-4V is biocompatible — the same reason it's used in medical implants — it plays nicely with your skin. No irritation, no reactions, even over extended wear. The result is a high-end IEM that's as ergonomic as it is striking.

Now when I picked up the TWELVE Ti, I did notice it felt heavier than the U12t IEM. I don't have exact weight specs to compare, but in hand, there's a slight difference. What I may be interpreting as weight could actually be that additional durability, which we know the shell delivers. It feels substantial, like you're holding something built to last. Compared to most earbuds or even other universal IEMs, this thing feels like a serious instrument.

Now let's talk about what you actually get in the box, because 64 Audio always blows me away with their presentation. The TWELVE Ti is their most sophisticated release yet. The TWELVE Ti comes in an impressive special edition box. Pull off the textured sleeve, open the box, and you'll find the IEMs, a full suite of accessories, and an envelope containing a personal message from the founder, along with detailed informative materials. Instructions on cable attachment, swapping apex modules, maintenance, how to wear the IEMs, and product registration. They thought of everything.

Included with the TWELVE Ti is a suite of accessories: A cleaning cloth, a 64 Audio sticker, a hardshell carrying case, three sets of ear tips (SpinFit silicone, Silicone, and TrueFidelity foam) in three sizes, a shirt clip, a cleaning tool, four apex modules (m20, m15, m12, mX), and two IEM cables. The TWELVE Ti comes with two dedicated premium cables, specifically crafted for this model–a 3.5mm and a 4.4mm balanced. It's a four-core cross-braided design made from silver-plated UP-OCC copper, with a total impedance of 0.29 ohms. That means you get great noise shielding and transparent signal transmission. And it completes the head-to-toe titanium aesthetic.

As an anniversary, limited edition, 64 Audio went the extra mile to make the TWELVE Ti special. Not just in the titanium construction, but in every last detail here. The packaging, the founder's note, the shielded cables. Nothing about this IEM feels like an afterthought.

Sound

Now for the question everyone wants answered–does titanium actually change the sound? In short, yes. After spending time with the TWELVE Ti, here's what I can tell you. It's dynamic and lively, with a tight, impactful bass response that reaches deep into the sub-bass with authority. The mid-bass is controlled and punchy without ever bleeding into the midrange. The presentation is smooth and balanced, effortlessly musical in a way that just pulls you in. The tonality across the spectrum feels natural and cohesive–vocals sit right where they should, the treble extends clearly without fatigue, and the low-end anchors everything together with weight and precision. Detail retrieval and layering is impressible too.

I put on Travis Scott's 90210, and there's this static grit texture in that track that came through audible and clear as day. It's a super cool production detail that felt more intimate and intentional than I've ever heard it. The TWELVE Ti breathed new life into that song and I could see the full picture of what Scott was trying to achieve.

Then I put on Enya's Orinoco Flow, and it was so smooth and entrancing that I genuinely forgot I was sitting at my desk working. So how does it compare to the U12t? The sound quality is very much in line, and honestly, the best way I can describe these two is as fraternal twins. Same genetics, just different looks. Listening on the U12t, it was immediate, dynamic, and quick–the sound felt louder and the presentation overall felt bigger and bolder than the TWELVE Ti.

If anything, I think the titanium shell tightens up the sound a little, making it a touch cleaner than the U12t, but the character is still there. That shared identity is very much intact. We're talking about very minor, micro differences that were only noticeable when I was AB testing song-for-song. It's not a completely different IEM. Neither is a hybrid IEM or a dynamic driver design — this is a pure balanced armature driver IEM through and through, and it sounds like one in the best possible way.

So the DNA is all there–you can hear it. What separates these two is is the physical construction–titanium versus aluminum and stainless steel, and the overall aesthetic. The U12t has that signature all-silver look with its light gray faceplate and silver trim. The TWELVE Ti goes full titanium from head to toe–it's got a completely different visual presence.

If you haven't gathered already, the TWELVE Ti isn't a new IEM. It's the U12t IEM, elevated. Under that titanium shell sits the exact same driver configuration that made the U12t so successful. 12 balanced armature drivers–one tia high driver, 1 high-mid driver, 6 high-mid drivers, and 4 low drivers. And the technology, well, that's identical too. You still get 64 Audio's tia design, apex system, and LID circuit.

Tia (Tubeless In-Ear Audio System)

Featured in the TWELVE Ti is 64 Audio's Tia system, which uses an open balanced armature driver and a single-bore design–sometimes referred to as tia acoustic chambers–to reduce unwanted resonance and distortion. It's the technology that put 64 Audio IEMs on the map, and the reason their products are knowing for achieving a transparent, lifelike sound signature.

Apex (Air Pressure Exchange)

The TWELVE Ti harnesses the power of 64 Audio's apex technology (Air Pressure Exchange vent), which releases pressure in the sealed ear canal, allowing you to listen more comfortably for longer periods. It uses interchangeable apex modules to alleviate ear fatigue and opens up the soundstage in a way most sealed IEMs can't match.

Both the TWELVE Ti and U12t come with four apex modules: the m20, m15, m12, and mX. Each module adjusts pressure relief, noise isolation, bass attenuation, and mix width, so you can tune the listening experience to what you're doing in the moment. Think about it this way: you get the luxury of owning multiple IEMs without buying more than one.

The m20 is the stock module on the TWELVE Ti, constructed from titanium for this limited-edition model. It provides roughly -20dB of noise isolation, retaining the most low-frequency energy and delivering tight center imaging. The m15 apex module uses dual ambient ports and modified internals to lower isolation to -15dB. You get more ambient sound and a tamed bass response, while still maintaining excellent timbre and high-frequency reproduction. The m12 module provides 12dB isolation, making it perfect for tracks where the bass is overpowering the rest of the spectrum. And lastly, the mX module, which achieves -10dB of isolation, delivers a transparent, resolving listening experience.

Want to enjoy some classical compositions? Swap in the mX. Not getting the instrument separation you're after? Switch to the m20 module. It's that simple–no frills, no fuss.

LID (Linear Impedance Design)

Rounding out the technology suite is LID–Linear Impedance Design–which corrects the non-linear electrical resistance across the 12 drivers so your sound stays consistent no matter what you're plugging into. Whether it's a smartphone, a DAP, or a dedicated amplifier, the TWELVE Ti responds the same way the U12t does.

Why Dragon Cables?
You’ve heard the saying that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, right? Well, the same applies to your brand new audiophile-grade headphone or other audio components. The weakest link, in this case, is your stock audio cable or the cheap interconnects the manufacturer threw in the box just to get you up and running. Why is the audio cable always an afterthought, when it’s just as important as the rest of your system? At Moon Audio, we use the purest and best raw materials in our cables to unveil your music. We believe that materials matter and your audio cables should have the same care and craftsmanship that manufacturers put into their audio components and headphones. Audio cables are ultimately the connection to your music. The fact remains that cabling is often considered the last priority to that of the main product and a means to cut down the overall production costs. It’s as simple as that. Dragon Cables elevate every note - as if you were hearing your favorite music for the very time.

Verdict

The 64 Audio TWELVE Ti IEM takes everything that made the U12t IEM a success–the 12-driver configuration, tia technology, apex venting, LID circuit–and wraps it in aerospace-grade titanium with a purpose-built shielded cable to match. The TWELVE Ti comes in at $2,499, which is $500 more than the U12t's $1,999 price point — and there are only 200 of these in existence. For that premium, you're getting the titanium construction, purpose-built shielded cables, and the opportunity to own a limited edition reference-level product. Something so exclusive that it's reserved for you and 199 others. That is, if you score it in time.

But I want to be clear about something, the U12t is still one of the best IEMs you can buy at any price. If the TWELVE Ti sells out before you get your hands on it, or if the titanium upgrade isn't something you need, the U12t delivers the same legendary sound, the same tech, and the same driver configuration. You're not settling—you're choosing–this or that. And either way, you're choosing well.
