Announcing Dragon Cables with MMCX Connections Relaunch
Made to Fit Astell&Kern, Campfire Audio, Meze Audio, Sennheiser, and Shure IEMs
We're pleased to announce the return of our MMCX Dragon Cables. After several years of requests to bring back this original cable connection we're able to offer custom fits for your favorite Astell&Kern, Campfire Audio, Meze Audio, Sennheiser, and Shure universal IEMs.
Moon Audio has developed a new design to bring a more stable and snug-fitting MMCX connections to your favorite IEMs. With a stronger, more reliable design, the new connector is now angled for better comfort. What’s new for this series is a formable tubing utilized instead of the older generation memory wire. The result? More comfort for eyeglass wearing. With a plethora of connection options, you can get high-quality cables without spending a fortune.
Our MMCX cables are custom-built in-house to your exact connection specifications. The cable can be used in a single-ended or balanced design, and the wire is soldered to a connector using high-quality Cardas silver solder. Our MMCX cables are offered in two of our Dragon Cable Sound Signatures: Silver Dragon and Bronze Dragon. Upgrade your stock IEM cable and unleash the true sonic potential of your favorite pair of audiophile-grade IEMs.
Dragon MMCX IEM Cables: Everything You Need to Know
Why Upgrade your IEM Cable?
Most stock cables are made of poor, ultra-thin conductors that work as a bottleneck for sound. Poor geometries, no shielding, rubber jackets, and a whole host of issues in IEM cables can limit the performance of the driver in terms of clarity and definition. Our Dragon Audio Cables are handcrafted daily from quality materials in Moon Audio’s Cary, NC headquarters. We strive to provide you with a custom cable solution that elevates your listening experience, leaving nothing between you and your music.
Three Standard Premolded Cable Options
- 3.5mm straight 3 pole TRS stereo single-ended connection for use with most common portable devices. The entire body is molded to prevent the face of the connector to short to the chassis ground. This will eliminate issues of ground shorts.
- 2.5mm balanced 4 pole TRRS gold straight mini plug for use with the balanced output of the Astell&Kern, Fiio, and, iBasso DAPs just to name a few. The entire body is molded to prevent the face of the connector to short to the chassis ground. This will eliminate issues of ground shorts.
- 4.4mm balanced 5 pole TRRRS gold straight mini plug for use with the balanced output of the Astell&Kern, iBasso, Sony and Cayin DAPs as well as so many other new products adopting this connection.
The 3.5mm connector has an extended neck to vanquish most portable devices that have a deep connector socket hole.
Meet the Silver and Bronze Dragon MMCX IEM Cables
Each Dragon Cable has its own personality. Our cables are designed to improve headphone and IEM performance by fine-tuning the sound signature of your audio gear to better suit your personal preferences.
Silver Dragon MMCX IEM Cable
The Silver Dragon MMCX IEM Cable features eight conductors of 99.99998% UP-OCC stranded silver in each cable. As one of the purest wires that can currently be produced, it’s void of all impurities. You’ll experience an enhanced level of resolution and detail that’s a detailed reflection of the music with a bass that’s tight and well-controlled.
Silver Dragon Sound Signature
The Silver Dragon is our top-of-the-line flagship cable. The Silver Dragon is designed to maximize the amount of detail, clarity, air, and instrument separation you get from your listening experience. Silver conductors are adept at pulling out “lost” middle and high-frequency sounds, so you get top-end sizzle and hear things that may otherwise be obscured. The Silver Dragon is smooth and clean, not forward or bright sounding. Instrumentation is clear and distinct, especially in the treble ranges. We recommend the Silver Dragon for people who love to hear lots of detail in their music.

Bronze Dragon MMCX IEM Cable
The new Bronze Dragon MMCX IEM Cable uses eight conductors of 99.99998% UP-OCC stranded Copper conduction in each cable. Used in just the right way and proportions, Copper helps warm, expand, and strengthen sound from bottom-end instruments like bass guitars and cellos, as well as deep vocals.
Bronze Dragon Sound Signature
With a warm presentation, the Bronze Dragon strengthens the bottom end without becoming bloated. Bass guitar and cello are full and immersive, creating a more musical sound that's not too lush. The warmth and fullness of the Bronze Dragon create the muscle needed to round out a flat signature.
